Five most memorable test matches
1. 1952, India-Pakistan first test
The first Test match was played between India and Pakistan
in October 1952. The match was in Delhi's Ferozeshah Kotla. Thanks to the
fifties of Vijay Thousands, Hemu Officer and Ghulam Ahmed, India scored 372
runs in the first innings and Pakistan did not equalize India's scores in both
innings. Venu Mankad, who was fatal in that match, took 8 wickets in the first
innings and 5 wickets in the second innings and the Indian team won with that
innings and 70 runs.
Madras Test of 1981
Pakistan had dangerous predators like Imran Khan and Iqbal
Qasim at that time, but despite his tremendous bowling, Sunil Gavaskar scored
166 and Kapil Dev scored a magnificent 84 off only batting at number 8. Kapil
Dev made 4 in the first innings and took 7 wickets in the second innings to

3. 1999 Chennai Test and Sachin's most belligerent innings
To win that match, India needed 271 runs in the second

moaning with back pain, but he did not let his bat stop. It was the most bitter
innings of Sachin's Test career, but when India were just 17 runs away from
victory, that memorable innings of Sachin's 136 runs ended. Inside the four runs,

swing to batsmen like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. India managed to take
some advantage in the first innings but in the second innings, Pakistan scored
316 in the second innings, thanks to an unbeaten 188 of Saeed Anwar and
all-rounder India won the match by 45 runs on 232.
